Geopier UPLIFT Rammed Aggregate Pier®
Uplift RAPs provide 25 to 100 kips of ASD uplift resistance for earthquake and wind loads. The uplift resistance is provided by installing a structurally designed steel anchor consisting of either a 2-bar or 4-bar system bolted to a 1.5 to 2.5 inch thick steel plate, see Figure. The corrosion of the steel is accounted for in every design. Uplift RAP steel corrosion mitigation measures are outlined in Table 1.
