Project Summary

This site in Tracy has alluvium and loose sand at depth that could cause settlement of the new fire station.  The California Division of State Architect required the project to be on piles as the fire station is an essential service facility.  Farrell provided the solution using the Drill Displacement Pile (DDP) system.  The 18” diameter DDP were installed to depths of 38 to 40 feet.  This project was on a fast track with design completed within 2 weeks of authorization and 3 weeks of construction shortly after that.  Farrell collaborated with the engineers to provide a solution that met the stringent DSA review.
